Preview: Jormungand

Synopsis from wiki:

The series follows Koko Hekmatyar, a young arms dealer who sells weapons under HCLI, an international shipping corporation that secretly deals in the arms trade. As one of the company's unofficial weapon dealers, she secretly sells weapons in many countries while avoiding the local authorities and law enforcements as most of her work is actually illegal under international law. Traveling with her is her team of bodyguards who are mostly composed of ex-military veterans. Her latest addition to her crew is Jonah, a seemingly emotionless child soldier who is skilled in combat yet ironically hates arms dealers. Jonah joins Koko as he wishes to find the arms dealer responsible for his family's death. What follows is Koko and her crews escapades around the world.

Jormungand is a promissing action anime which reminded me of Black Lagoon. A group of highly trained mercenaries doing illegal business with a lot of "hostile" negotiations, which are resolved with wits and bullets.  The action style is the same you can find in action movies.

The animation and the backgrounds were good. As expected of a series like this, the weapon and vehicle design was very good. The electronic soundtrack managed to create the right feeling for the scenes. The opening is similar to Black Lagoon's and the ending was interesting, mainly because of the singer's beautiful voice.

Koko is a strange character. She is not only young. She acts like a young girl and not like a serious business woman, even though she shows a cool and fierce side during negotiations. She might be a cool character. Jonah is the silent and expressionless type the japanese love. I don't expect much of him. The other characters only had time to show how badass they are, though some shown a little personality.

I think Jormungand will be worth watching, at least for action fans, even if it sticks to showing Koko's deals. But a recurrent and more complex plot won't hurt.
