Review: Cowboy Bebop

 

The anime takes place in 2071. Mankind has created a portal system that allows faster than light interstellar travels and colonized the solar system. We follow Spike Spiegel and Jet Black, two bounty hunters (called cowboys in this setting) that go after wanted criminals in their ship, Bebop. During their adventures, Ein, an intelligent dor, Faye Valentine, a female bounty hunter and Ed, a female hacker join their team.

Review: Kamen Rider OOO

 

Synopsis from wikipedia:

Eiji Hino is a traveling man who has no place to call home and a tragic past. When coin-based homunculi known as the Greeed awaken after their 800-year slumber to attack humans and feed off of their desires, the disembodied arm of the Greeed named Ankh gives Eiji a belt and three Medals to fight the other Greeed as Kamen Rider OOO. The mysterious Kougami Foundation approaches Eiji and begins assisting him in his fight against the Greeed, though their true motives are not clear. As Eiji fights the Greeed and their Yummy monsters, learning more of the Greeed and Ankh, he starts to find a purpose beyond his journey.

Review: Dogs: Bullets and Carnage


 


This OVA adapts the1-volume manga called DOGS, by Miwa Shirow. The story continues in DOGS: Bullets and Carnage, which is still ongoing. There is also a short spin-off called DOGS: Hardcore twins.

The OVA has 4 episodes and each of them shows the story of one of the 4 protagonists, which take place in the same city. The city isn't named, but it's a big metropolis with a very active underworld. But there is also the underworld of the underworld, which is being explored in the Bullets and Carnage manga, and is just briefly mentioned in the last episode of the OVA.

Preview: Otoyomegatari


Otoyomegatari (A Bride's Story) tells the story of several young wifes from central Asia in the early 19th century. In the first chapters, it shows Amir a 20 year-old woman married to Karluk, who is only 12. But eventually it follows Henry Smith, an english scholar that was a guest in Karluk's house, while he travels and shows other brides.

Silver Spoon is the newest manga drawn by Hiromu Arakawa, author of the hit Full Metal Alchemist. It shows the daily life of Yugo Hachiken, a city boy that decided to go to an agricultural highschool, despite the fact that he has no intention of following an agricultural carreer after graduating.
